Learn how the parts of your body connect and how movement travels through you. Grounded in anatomy and developmental movement patterns, you'll move with integrity and discover why efficiency matters.
Start with gentle, floor-based movements that build mindfulness and anatomical awareness. Progress through sequential sections that build on each other, then close with standing improvisation to carry your discoveries into everyday life.
Whether you're seeking ease in your body, movement efficiency, or genuine recovery, this practice offers information moving through you at a different speed than you're used to. Alexandra returns to this practice herself when everything else feels like noise.
What's inside this 50-minute class
This is a complete Bartenieff Fundamentals class: organic, floor-based movements that honor how your body is built, paired with mindful awareness of how each part connects. The class builds sequentially, with each section setting up the next, so it lands differently when taken whole than in pieces. You'll close with a short standing improvisation to integrate what you've discovered and carry it into your everyday movement. No background in Laban or Bartenieff needed—just clear some floor space, give yourself the full 50 minutes in one sitting, and let your body learn something new.
