Follow along with real, unscripted improvisations filmed during a Bartenieff Fundamentals class. It may reveal what your body naturally wants to do when you're not in your head planning every move.
Body Part Initiation and Waiting are designed as generative constraints—limitations that actually spark creativity. Feel how working within boundaries opens up new possibilities.
You may start noticing patterns and choices you habitually make. This reflective process builds your improvisational intuition and creative confidence.
What's inside your download
You'll receive two short videos—each about three minutes—featuring real-time guidance from Alexandra as she dances through Body Part Initiation and Waiting. These aren't polished performances or staged demonstrations. They're authentic explorations filmed in a genuine Bartenieff Fundamentals class setting. Simply clear a little space, press play, and move with what you see. The beauty of these prompts is in their simplicity: constraint becomes your creative partner, helping you discover movements and ideas you wouldn't have accessed through traditional thinking. Perfect for artists, creators, and performers looking for a fresh entry point into improvisation.
